
Semi-hard cheese
Semi-Hard cheeses are generally packed into moulds under more pressure and aged for a longer time than the soft cheeses.

Our Mozzarella block is made of cow’s milk. This cheese type has been used world-wide. The biggest usage is in pizza industry, but is used for sandwiches or as an topping in preparing different kind of dishes due to very good melting and stretching when threated at higher temperature and very pleasant, mild and creamy taste. This product comes in different formats; from 2,5kg loaf up to 10 kg blocks. It can be shipped fresh or frozen.
Gouda is a yellow semi-hard cheese with 48% fat in dry matter. Gouda is made of cow’s milk and is one of the most popular cheeses around the globe. It is widely used for preparing many dishes (some of the most popular are pizza, lasagne, cheeseburgers). This cheese type melts extremely well at high temperature. Is comes in different shapes, but most common once in form of 15kg blocks and 2,5-3kg loaves.


Edam is a yellow semi-hard cheese with 40% fat in dry matter. Edam is made of cow’s milk and is widely used for preparing many dishes, sandwiches etc. This cheese has very good melting characteristics, but is sometimes used in dishes instead of Gouda, where less stretching is needed (such as cheesburgers, bakery products with cheese etc.)
Tilsit cheese is a light yellow semi-hard cheese. Tilsiter has a medium-firm texture with irregular holes or cracks and is regularly more salty cheese other semi-hard cheeses such as Edamer, Gouda or Mozzarella. Commercially produced Tilsiter is made from pasteurized cow’s milk, ranges from 30 to 60% milk fat. It is usually 1-2 weeks more matured than other semi-hard cheese.


Trappista is a traditional Hungarian semi-hard cow’s-milk cheese made by Trappist monks. It has a mild flavour and melts easily. Trappista cheese is a pale yellowish colour and has 3–5 mm, sparsely distributed, holes. It typically comes packaged in red plastic foil, regardless of manufacturer. We produce it in approx. 1,3 kg blocks, approx.. 2,6kg blocks and 15kg blocks. Cheese can be either plain or smoked.
Maasdam cheese is a Swiss-style semi-hard cheese with holes simmitar to Swiss Emmental cheese. The cheese is made from cow’s milk, it is aged for at least 4 weeks. It ripens faster than other semi-hard cheese. Maasdam has internal holes from the ripening process, and a smooth, yellow rind. It was developed as an cheaper replacement to expencive Emmental cheese. It is available in different sizes from smaller portions up to 15kg blocks.
